My Wife Loves This Being Just Off The Dining Room
It's so much easier to stay on top of the laundry having it so conveniently located near the Kitchen. Yet, with its clever design and attributes, it does not detract in the slightest from the loveliness of the Dining Room; including the fact that we special ordered expensive heavy-duty solid wood doors (expensive - ouch!) which insulate and muffle the sound of the washer and dryer in the Laundry Room from the Dining Room.
What you are looking at is the Laundry Room behind the large white doors - to the left of them (behind wood cabinet doors) more custom designed wonders which I'll explain below - and to the left, in the corner, the door to the Main Bathroom.
The flooring of the Laundry is the same Monticello porcelain tile used in the Kitchen, Dining Room, etc.

With the doors open you see the washer, dryer, and other laundry accessories. This is quite small, as you can see, but it's all the space you need since you have the entire Dining Room table only four feet away where you can sort, fold, etc.
Our previous home had a huge laundry room, full of all kinds of accessories, but it was in the basement. My wife loves this smaller one so much more because of the easy access. And to her, because of the use of the Dining Room table, it feels just as large.

My wife also loves the marked buckets used as sorting bins because of their ease in portability; not to mention the fact that one bucket-full equals exactly one load of wash, and the head of the bucket fits perfect into the washer opening when filling. These are much more effective than official laundry sorters she has used in the past.
Notice on the right wall the built-in shelves for detergent, softener, etc. Conveniently right there at your fingertips, and you don't have to tip them with your hands to pour. Another feature she loves.
More Custom Designed Stuff In This Vermont Property
By this point I'm sure you would feel slighted if we have a room without something custom in it... so just for you I'll present what follows that no other Vermont homes for sale have.
You see two cabinet doors stacked on top of each other. The top one hides the built-in ironing board. Though that's nice, but certainly not too unique these days, what lies below the larger door is. It's a built-in sewing machine cabinet.

This shows the handy ironing board, which easily gets put into use, and then back away. Notice the little storage shelf which holds the iron when not in use.

As you can see, the door also doubles as a table which you can use to sew small quick projects on. If you had a large project to do, you would of course want to move the sewing machine to the table where there is plenty of space to work. However, when you have just a quick little repair job, this is very handy to work on without having to move it and set it up, which then clutters the Dining Room table.
