DELIGHTFUL ENTRY & LIVING ROOM
Though Small This Entry Gently Whispers "Welcome" To All Who Enter
As people enter our home they look around and smile; then comment on how peaceful it is. There is true elegance in the craftsmanship, but it's down-to-earth tone whispers soothing ebbs of comfortable earthiness. Though an incredible showpiece, this Vermont property yearns to be lived in, and invites you to do so.
The flooring of the entry is the same superior grade Monticello porcelain tile as the kitchen; which blends very well with the plush carpeting of the living room. The double doors are a nice touch; a feature seldom offered in homes for sale in Vermont.

One-Of-A-Kind Custom Designed Trim
Now is a good time to introduce you to the unique trim found throughout the house. This also took several years to design. Just as with the kitchen cabinet doors we didn't want to reinvent the wheel, so we tried to find existing moldings offered by building supply stores. We looked high and low, but could not find the perfect trim to finish this house. Finally we compromised and bought the best trim available at building supply stores, and installed it in a few places.
As suspected, however, it just wasn't right. So we re-embarked upon our mission of finding the right trim. It simply wasn't to be found however. We consequently decided we needed to create custom designed trim, and after months of trying different ideas finally came up with what we feel is perfect for this house. Due to being custom designed and made, it was extremely expensive, but worth it. It ads the real old time country feel; elaborate in design, yet understated in presentation, yielding a very pleasing aesthetic throughout. We just love it, and so do all who have seen it. Just like so many other features, the trim makes this home unique and special to all other Vermont homes.
As shown in the picture, the door and window mantles are varying heights depending upon location.

Cozy and Comfortable Living Room
The window treatments throughout are high tech cordless cellular shades. They are constructed from a special honeycomb fabric that blends seamlessly with our country style. These shades are the latest rave; partially due to the fact they are the most energy efficient shade available. Another perfect example of how we've combined the latest of technology with our old fashioned theme.
We have used Sherwin Williams top-of-the-line Duration paint throughout the house. It is top-ranked in durability and washability.
The plush STAINMASTER® carpet we chose is also the most durable and stain resistant of anything on the market. It will stay looking brand new for many years to come.

Authentic Rock Chimney & Soapstone Stove
The rock chimney adds a real nice old fashioned touch to our country decor. Inside the chimney, however, is a new state-of-the-art chimney liner impervious to chimney fires.
Connected to it is the Hearthstone Mansfield Soapstone high tech wood stove. This is the largest and most efficient version Hearthstone makes. The soapstone is over two inches thick and absorbs heat so well it will continue to heat the house up to four hours after the fire goes out. Though you can choose to heat the home with the new high efficiency oil boiler we added (radiant heat), you can also heat it entirely and economically with this amazing wood stove. Stoke the fire before going to bed, and it will burn all through the night.
The glass door reveals the inside of the stove almost in its entirety yielding a ambiance of coziness which can only be achieved by the flickering of cold winter night flames.

200 Year-Old Hand-Hewn Beams Adorn This Vermont Property
These beams came out of the original barn that was once attached to this house over 200 years ago. Beautiful specimens preserving a part of history - early American craftsmanship and hard work ethic.

The Stairway ~ Show Piece Of The Living Room
Intricate and detailed custom woodwork highlights the stairway as a focal point of this area. Guests cannot help themselves, leaving the couch to study the workmanship of this living area centerpiece.

Carpeted Stairs
Decorative wood trim lines both sides of the carpet on the stairs. The railing is very beautiful. We used the most heavy-duty thick pad available underneath the carpet except on the stairs. We used a heavy-duty wool pad for the stairs - not as cushy, but will insure the carpet on the stairs doesn't wear out prematurely like you often see on stairways.
At the top of the stairs you see the door to the Master Bedroom.

Landing At The Top Of The Stairs
The flooring of the landing is the same Monticello tile used downstairs. You can see the doorways to Bedrooms 2 & 3 at the end of the landing.

View From The Top Of The Stairway
